The tympani zone. In school districts, when the tympani in the high school band program get too ancient, they get new ones. Middle school bands are usually receipiant of the ancient tympani. We were lucky enough to have 5 tympani. I could use hose clamps to create stops in the tympani pedal so each one could quickly be retuned quickly with reasonably accurate pitches.

The continuation of the jazz calendar pages continues here with Gerry Mulligan, Charles Mingus, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Ron Carter, Andre Watts, Duke Ellington, a washboard band and King Oliver's Band. To the left of the drum rudiment poster is a sheet is a similar sheet from the 1920s.

There is an applause sign from former princial John Segerdahl's retirement party. It was a very sedate affair. He was my first principal at ITMS. I was 53 years old when I attended the new teacher meeting. He looked at me and just sighed.

He did, however treat me and the kids in the music program fairly and honestly. While I never attended the retreat at Greenkill, I do remember his aphorism "What happens at Greenkill, stays at Greenkill." I will assume this is a good idea.
